UNIC, UNCG and RCO organized a three-days awareness and advocacy campaign; «SDG village», which brought together UN Agencies, Civil Society Organisations, to share information and knowledge on the SDGs with the public.
Information in respective stands comprised SDG branded gadget such as; roll-ups (kakemonos), posters, brochures, mystery wheel, ring, reports, newsletter, flyers, pins, mugs, t-shirts, pens, cubes, etc. The village was officially opened by Mr. Jacques Boyer UNICEF/UNCG Chair, and Ms Siti Batoul Oussein (UNFPA).
Stands were mounted within the premises of the Cameroon Cultural Centre, code-named “SDG Village”, to disseminate information on the SDGs, emphasising concrete actions by the different agencies and partners towards achieving these goals and the 2030 agenda in Cameroon. Agencies in the stands included; UNIC, UNV, UNESCO, UNDP, WHO, UNFPA, UNICEF, FAO, WFP, UNHCR, and CSO; JADD (Jeunes en Action pour le Développement Durable),AIESEC, AGEC (Associations des Guides et Eclaireuses du Cameroun), CSYAN (Climate Smart Agriculture Youth Network), etc.
The village witnessed the huge participation of students, diplomats, business people, and general public, who were eager to know more on the SDGs, and most especially play the game with SDG mystery wheel produced by UNIC.
